It's Not Palm Sunday YET!

We had several members with celebrations: Tom's mother turned 90 years old today, Luann was back and feeling well enough after neck surgery to come to class, Ellen's biopsy results were negative (which is good!), Denise and Richard were in class today, and the Guthries came again (which means they are now members of New Hope).

Our love and sympathy extends to Rick and Nancy.  Rick's father passed away Friday.  Rick and Nancy made a trip to see him just a few weeks ago, knowing that his health was failing.  Rick is not feeling well and has an upper respiratory infection, so please pray for his health to improve quickly.  The class will be sending a memorial gift to the family.

Mei Moore visited our class today.  I sat by her and was fasinated by her Bible which is translated in both Chinese and English.  Mei is very personable and I enjoyed my visit with her.  If you know Mei, please invite her back.

Emily announced that the balance is due for Jan-Kay reservations.  You may contact Emily if you have questions.

Our class MAY need to greet next week.  If so, I will try to send you details by email as soon as we find out.

James' lesson was based on Luke 6:43-49, the sermon on the plains.  We discussed the two parables: 1) the tree and its fruit and 2) the wise and foolish builders.  The first parable helps the disciples see the difference between true and false faith.  The second illuminates the difference between true and false disciples.
