Brunch on September 4th

I received this news from Emily:
Our sympathy and love goes out to Rita and Jeral Cain in the loss of Rita's aunt in Oklahoma. Rita was very close to her and gave her all sorts of love and special attention.
We had another good lesson from Scott Wilcox. We really appreciate him teaching us this summer! On August 28 and September 4 we will have a guest teacher from Trinity United Methodist in Arlington. We will have brunch on September 4 if you would like to bring a brunch type dish or pastries.
One of the little boys (age 5) who was in the Poly Center style show sponsored by Arborlawn last month - had serious heart surgery this past Friday. One of the dr's goals is to keep him from being too active. If you would like to send him a card, here is his name and the address for the Poly Center that will take the cards to him. The message has gone out from Holley Williams to many Arborlawn members so maybe the cards will help to keep him entertained - and to show our care and concern! Please put Arborlawn somewhere under your signature.

On a personal note:
Thank you for prayers extended to James' family.  His dad has been moved to the rehab center at Trinity Terrace.  We were very concerned about him Friday; he did not look good, and we were praying for a turn-around in his condition.  When we saw him on Saturday, he was much better.  Praise God! It will be a long recovery.  The break in his leg was a lateral fracture in his femur, close to the hip socket.  We anticipate that he will be in rehab for several weeks.

James and I are looking forward to seeing you in September.  I start back for staff development tomorrow so a new school year begins!

If you are following the Chicken Fried Church Tour, we visited First UMC in Granbury today.  Neil Norman (past associate at Westcliff) and Steve Sobjeck (past music director at Westcliff) serve at Granbury First.  It was good to see old friends!  Sorry to report, there was NO chicken fried steak after church.  We are so tired from all the hospital and nursing home visits and decided to come home after we saw the line out the door at Mary's on Tin Top Road.

I am working on updates for the blogspot and will try to get things going again online.  Send me information when you want me to post something.  (Thank you for sending an update, Emily.)

Love to you all,
Kay
