Pre-Concert Party - September 25 at 5:00

We had a class full of members to study the lesson today.  We studied the 21st chapter of Acts and the opposition Paul faced in Jerusalem.  He was in God's place, in God's timing and saved by God's grace.

Pot-luck hors d'oeuvres and desserts will be served on Sept. 25, before a concert at Arborlawn. We will gather around 5:00 to share in heavy appetizers and desserts, then you can stay for the concert at 7:00.  We started a sign-up sheet this morning.  If you didn't get a chance to sign-up, you can contact Brad.  Mark the date on your calendars and plan to attend.

We welcomed Charlene Wilcox, Scott's mother, today.  Joe and Kay Hawkins have become members and we welcome them to our class.  Also David Lamb visited today.

If you would like to contribute to Partners for Sacred Places and had a hard time making a donation on Thursday, please contact Suzy Yowell at 817-965-5072.  The servers were completely over-loaded last week because so many were making donations.  Suzy can help you if you would like to give to Partners.  Thank you for the many phone calls and requests made by our class members!

After Sunday School today, we rushed to First UMC to see our granddaughter Ashleigh receive her Third Grade Bible.  It was a precious service, which included everyone standing to sing "The B-I-B-L-E to the tune of B-I-N-G-O! "

Saturday James and I went to Copperas Cove to visit our son John and his wife Casey.  John is serving as associate pastor at Grace UMC.  He and Casey have moved to a duplex and they are all settled into their new church and community.  We left praising God for answered prayer!  Many of you have been praying for John as he sought an appointment in the conference.  Thank you for your prayers!
