Next Sunday is Commitment Sunday. Prepare through prayer to renew your vow to the church. James quoted a significant message that he carries with him daily on his key chain: Stewardship...all that we are...all that we have...all the time....
Bishop Lowery's blog posting this week was profound and James asked that I include it in this week's posting. Click here to read it.
Congratulations to Clyde and Marty Benton and Don and Carol Haynes, who are celebrating anniversaries this month.
Judy asked for prayer for her nephew who is serving our country in Afghanistan. Devin needs our prayers for safety and comfort during his tour of duty.
We have been asked to serve three or four times a year as greeters in the church. We agreed that this is an important ministry for our church and committed as a class to greet as needed. More details to come. Carol Proctor and Kelly Keller are organizing the ministry.
Our lesson in Acts 25 - 26 included a study of how Paul was fitted to do God's work in the world. At this time in his life, Paul had been promised by God through a vision (Acts 23:11) that he will get to Rome. Now Paul himself has to take responsibility for making this happen. He must discern when to "keep still" and allow the Lord to act, and when to take the initiative and take action.
Pray that God will show you how Paul's example can be a guide for you in difficult situations this week.
