We welcome Ellen as our newest member of New Hope! Ellen's information will be added to our class roster and the roster will be emailed directly to you.
Praise that Rachel has returned safely from Nicaraugua! We are also thankful that Nick is making progress and adjusting to his new environment.
Prayers of concern are extended to the Bristow family. We are praying that Jack is better soon.
James concluded our lesson for Advent and our study using Ellsworth Kalas' study guide of Christmas from the Backside. The last chapter discusses the church's part of the Christmas story. Christmas will come to the prople who have built an altar in their hearts. God can be found in any number of places (God is not about to be fenced in by our expectations), but the Bible makes clear that God is found by those who seek Him. And at its best, the church is just that: a body of people who are seeking to please God and to do God's will. They're not perfect, but they've caught the message and they're seeking to bring it to pass.
The Open Door Sunday School class is sponsoring a clothing drive. New or gently used coats, sweater, gloves, scarves for Poly Community Center. If you would like to donate items, please bring them before Sunday, February 5.
Have a great week, thanking God for the birth of His Son. And thanking God for the gift of salvation, peace, and love He bring to the world through His Gift of Jesus. May we become more effective Christians and walk closer with God, not only in the Christmas season, but every day of the year.
