Opportunities for Service

Our class has taken an intiative to serve others!  We are excited about all the possibilities that our mission committee presented to us and we have already started some of the projects.

You should have received an email from Rita Cain about Arborlawn Snack Sack Ministry, Thursday evening at 5:30 in the SAM Building.  Please come help pack snack sacks, and after we have assembled the sacks, we will go out to eat as a group.

You should have also received an email from Janet Culbertson to save the date for the Agape Meal at Broadway Baptist Church on Thursday, May 16th.  Janet has committed 20 - 30 volunteers for the dinner so please consider volunteering for this major project.  Details are forthcoming.

Another mission opportunity was announced in class on Sunday.  Scott Wilcox is seeking sponsors/donations for a fund-raiser golf tournament (that Ryan is organizing) for Whetstone Boys Ranch. Scott is committed to playing 100 holes in 12 hours! It is Friday, May 31 at the Mountain View (Missouri) Golf Course. Donations are tax deductible and all proceeds support this mentor-based therapeutic program. It's a great organization and great cause - infusing Christ into young men!  Here is the link:

If you didn't received the link to follow the Caringbridge site for Justin Elliott, here is the link to keep abreast of all the updates/prayer requests from the Elliotts: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/justinelliott80  I just discovered there is an app for the CaringBridge site.

Debbie sent a thorough report on our mission opportunities last week.  I will see if there is a way I can post it on the blogspot.

This is a general announcement from the church regarding member Carole Siepielski who died April 13, 2013: A memorial service for Carole is this Friday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m., in Arborlawn's Sanctuary. Please keep Carole's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
Kay
