John Richard Nader's Ordination - June 8, 2015

John's ordination at Whites Chapel UMC was a great event!  John has worked so hard to meet all the requirements to become a full elder in the United Methodist Church.  It is a long road: 4 years of seminary, 4 years of candidacy in the United Methodist church, numerous papers, defending numerous papers, multiple meetings with the Bishop and the Board of Ordained Ministry  - all of this while working a job and raising a family!

John received an appointment two years ago at St. Luke's UMC in Corsicana and Emhouse UMC in Emhouse (a small town about 10 miles from Corsicana).  He will remain at this appointment for at least another year. John and his wife Casey have established a sound ministry within the church and community, and they have worked hard in the congregations.  The people there have fallen in love with John, Casey and their sweet little girl Adalyn.

A precious tradition in the beautiful ordination ceremony is the tradition of standing with the candidate when it is time for the bishop to lay hands and pray over the candidate.  As we stood to support John, James and I looked over the congregation at Whites Chapel and saw so many people standing with us for John.  Some of you at Arborlawn church were standing with us - thank you for coming!

Here are some pictures from the wonderful evening:

To God be the glory, great things He has done!
