New Hopers In Service and More

The Broadway Baptist Agape Meal will be held on Thursday night, May 16 from 5:30 - 8:00.  More volunteers from our class are needed to help with the meal.  Please contact Janet if you can help (janet3553@yahoo.com).  Janet committed to 20 -25 volunteers and we are short.

The Chapel dedication will be next Sunday, May 19.  A light lunch/sandwiches will be served in the lower commons after the dedication.

Brenda Shirley's father Robert Wingate is in hospice care and she would appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.

Justin Elliott is recovering slowly after his servere injuries.  Our prayers extend to him and Mike and Debbie as they face many months of rehab and recovery. The Elliotts are also facing the death of their sister-in-law, "Debbie 2" (her name was also Debbie Elliott).  Her funeral services will be held in Granbury on May 15 at 2:00 at Wiley Funeral Home.

We celebrated Chris Wilson's engagement!  Congratulations!  Also John and Casey Nader's new church appointment in Corsicana at St. Luke's UMC and Emhouse UMC.  They will move as soon as Baby Adalyn arrives in mid-June.

New Hopers are planning to serve sandwiches at the Presbyterian Night Shelter in June.  We need someone to lead us in this endeavor.  If you are willing to help coordinate this outreach, please let Clyde or Tom know that you are willing to lead.

The Corneliuses are home and need help with home care.  If you are avialable to help, log on to the Caring Bridge site and contact Tina.  It sounds like they are making progress after their severe car wreck in Kansas over a month ago.  They both sustained extensive injuries.  Our prayers continue for their recovery.

Next week, James will conclude the study of the book Everything Belongs by Richard Rohr.

See you then!
